DAPHNE, or the Dynamic Atmosphere-Ionosphere Explorer, is designed to study the intricate dance between Earth's lower atmosphere and its upper atmosphere, where space weather events occur. With a proposed launch date of 2029, the DAPHNE mission is still in its early stages. It will undergo a confirmation review in 2027, assessing its progress and funding availability. If confirmed, the mission's estimated cost, excluding launch, will not exceed $250 million in fiscal year 2023 dollars.
